MAT Vice President – YATA Vice President

On September 4,

Félix Á. Debrenti, the Vice-President of the Hungarian Atlantic Council (MAT) and President of the YATA Hungary, was elected Vice President for Public Diplomacy of the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA) at the organisation’s General Assembly.

The new YATA leadership with the Vice President from Hungary among its ranks was elected by delegates from 24 national chapters, and it will play an extremely important role in facilitating the active participation of the member states’ societies, especially the younger generation, in the discussions about NATO. The successful election of YATA Hungary President Félix Á. Debrenti is also an acknowledgment of the work done by MAT, and it places further great responsibility on the continuation of its activities on a high level.

Following the elections of the new executive boards of both ATA and YATA, fostering the transatlantic bond and the values embedded in the North Atlantic Treaty in the member states can continue with renewed vigour and energy. As a result of the YATA General Assembly, in addition to Félix Á. Debrenti serving as Vice President for Public Diplomacy, the following people are on the organisation’s executive board: Juxhina Sotiri Gjoni (Albania) as its President, Chiara Pasini (Italy) as Executive Vice President, Manuel Santos (Portugal) as Secretary General, and Rati Bakhtadze (Georgia) as Vice President for Communication.
